It’s been a long time since we introduced social platforms in our lives, we have made it a part of our lives. We can now have face-time with our friends and families no matter how far away they may be, we can now enjoy many things going all around the world by just sitting at one corner. I am not actually a techno savvy person but like those teens who get attracted to socials I am one of them. Getting used to Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook connects us with people far away. But one thing makes me think about this that is social media curse or boon? Well, only we ourselves can answer this. If we take these socials in a positive way and not have its access with some bad intentions then surely it can turn into a good way of connecting with people and reaching out to many social topics. Sometimes even I get attracted towards it, I spent hours just scrolling those memes and reacting over it, at the same time I get least interested to be in my family topics and just choose to be with my cell phone all day.
So once I decided to go a day without social media, and this is what it taught me. It taught me to spend time with loved ones around, it taught me to reach out the reality through books. I realized that how much time I would just waste on social media. I caught myself reaching to the mobile phone and tapping my finger on the instagram app tile. I even got bored of watching television who was once my greatest entertainer, I actually noticed that there is so much more in life than stalking everyone’s profile or keeping an eye on others action. To be honest, I do get jealous of people by looking their vacation posts and stories and then I would dread being at home.
But then I just thank God that we have everything we want to live a peaceful and happy life. It is not essential to post daily update of your life on social media. We have to use them just for our fun and entertainment and gain some knowledge through it.
We are meant to control our mobile phones it shouldn't be vice versa!
Sometimes it is better to disconnect with the world and learn to connect with ourselves.
