The biggest festival and holiday of the year that we all are awaited for is Christmas. We all know that Christmas is celebrated on 25th December as the birth date of Son of God - Jesus Christ. The hustle among the streets, the shower of wishes, the echoing sound of carols, the sweetness of happiness in the air tells us that it's CHRISTMAS.
The Christmas is incomplete without attending the Christmas service in Church and after that the celebration commemorates. Even though Christmas is only one day festival but it's preparation begins weeks before. The Christmas tree, the Gifts(best part of Christmas), Santa Claus aka Saint Nicholas - Father of Santa Claus, the invites, the get-togethers,Cards and the list is just never ending. I don't really like meeting my relatives the entire year but during Christmas I wait for them with all my patience. The gifts /money and blessings I receive just makes my day. LOL. I don't think I spend so much with my family as much as I do during Christmas. Helping Dad with decorating the Christmas tree and cleaning of garden and recieving orders from mother while cleaning the house is just another level of happiness. Arguing with siblings with the position of Star on the house to taking their opinions for Christmas dress is the effect of Christmas. Greeting relatives and neighbours and the exchange of love and food make me realise that this what Christmas is all about- loving and being together.
Festivals are all about the delicious food. Nobody can stop us from eating during festivals. The yummy Turkey , Tamales, Ponqué envinado(red wine cake), the special Indian Biryani, Donuts, Christmas Pudding, English Trifle ,etc are just mouth-watery.
Many of us have this perception that Christmas is about getting ready by wearing the most amazing outfit, makeup, etc whereas in reality Christmas is about rejoicing the human life and being thankful for the same. It's the last festival of the year so let's end the year with happiness and laughter than regrets and sorrow.
" What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present and hope for the future" - Agnes M. Pharo
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Great New Year!!
